I’ve always loved giving my artwork to friends. It tickles me to no end thinking about them going about their daily business and every once in a while they might glance over at the painting and smile, then go on. That’s what I do when I look at art I’ve received.
I make people and pet portraits. Commissioned and personal. Not to sound creepy, but I like to think of the person as I paint. I’ll explore their facebook for images that appeal to them. I like to think about why they chose this object/pet/person in particular to commemorate. How do you knowingly capture personality? I suppose it’s a bit mysterious. Art is a meaningful/silly/fun part of my day and I hope I can bring that enjoyment to others.
